What's the difference between Cloud and Self-Hosted?

Snap CD Cloud is hosted by us — you sign up and start running pipelines immediately. Self-Hosted is a license key you paste into your own Snap CD Server installation. Same product, different deployment model.

What counts as a 'module'?

A module is a single Terraform or OpenTofu root module with its own state file. Unlike competitors, we don't count resources — you can have unlimited resources in each module.

How do I get a free Community+ key?

Sign up for a snapcd.io account, open Self-hosted licenses, and click Get free Community+ key. One active Community+ key per organization; you can regenerate it any time.

What happens when my license expires?

Your server keeps running on Community defaults — 10 modules and the baseline feature set. No hard lockout. Renew or replace the key at any time to restore the full tier.

How does metered billing work?

Cloud only: you pay a base fee plus usage-based charges for modules and users. Usage is calculated based on how long each module/user exists during the billing period, summed up and rounded to the nearest whole unit.
